Luke Littler has Rob Cross beaten on almost every meaningful statistic up to this stage of the tournament.
The teenage prodigy has played one more match than his opponent, who benefitted from a first-round bye, but has still conceded fewer sets.
His 100.30 tournament average trumps Cross’ 98.90, and he has hit eight more maximums than ‘Voltage’ too.
The only sticking point for Littler may come on the doubles.
Cross has been clinical when chances have come his way, hitting a staggering 49 per cent of his attempts on doubles over the course of the tournament. Littler has a hit-rate of 44 per cent.
As Cross said after his comeback win over Chris Dobey, he’s got ‘nerves of steel’.
