Merseyside police have warned people not to use flares during Liverpool’s open-top bus parade.

A police officer was among 17 people to suffer flare-related injuries during Liverpool’s Premier League title celebrations on Sunday.

And hundreds of thousands of supporters have lined the streets for the parade on Bank Holiday Monday.

A statement read: “We are continuing to urge people to not use flares or drones during today’s LFC victory parade.

“Yesterday, Sunday 25 May, there was reports of 17 people, including one police officer, being injured as a result of flares ahead of the final LFC game at Anfield.

“A quantity of pyros were seized from Arkles Lane and a summons has been issued for the owner. We also seized four drones that were being flown over Anfield in breach of a temporary air restriction in place over the ground.”
