F1 LIVE: Mercedes make double Red Bull swoop as Lewis Hamilton faced with money problem | F1 | Sport

Lewis Hamilton reportedly will not be able to work with Adrian Newey at Ferrari until 2027.

Newey has been heavily linked with a move away from Red Bull this week, though his contract with the team could present several issues.

The 65-year-old has a contract which runs until 2025 with Red Bull and although he is confident that he could strike a deal to cut his stint short, a clause in the agreement could present a fresh stumbling block.

According to motorsport.com, Newey has a clause in his contract which can prevent him from joining another rival until 12 months after his Red Bull deal concludes.

Negotiations could reportedly be accelerated if Ferrari, who are cited as one of his suitors, try to buy Newey out of his contract. However, such a deal would be very expensive as Red Bull will not want to directly strengthen one of their biggest rivals.
